There’s award Nominations coming from all directions! I have now also been nominated for the 2011 ‘Thomas Leonard International Virtual Assistant of Distinction Award’. I’m thrilled and a little humbled, to be lining up amongst other incredible nominees. The winner will be announced on Friday, 19 May (Saturday morning EST AU time) during the International Virtual Assistants Day (IVAD) which forms part of OIVAC – Online International Virtual Assistants Convention.
OIVAC is a three day online Convention to be held from 19–21 May 2011. This will be the first time I’ve attended and I’m very much looking forward to it. I have only heard exceptional reviews from those VAs who have attended in the past.
I was telling a girlfriend about this amazing nomination and the industry Convention I’ll be attending. Her eyes lit up and she asked, “So where will you be heading since it’s international?”
I proceeded to tell her…
“The Convention has a great line up of speakers, some 35 over the three days and covering 40 different topics to help us grow our businesses; including presentations on VA services, marketing, business development, technology, tools, sponsor sessions, networking, training, mentoring, etc and all in the comfort of my own home here in Melbourne! No travel expense, no hotel fee, no costly meals, no babysitting or leaving my business behind expense.”
…because that’s what Virtual Assistants do! We look after our clients virtually and we can attend industry conventions virtually!
Now to get on and finalise my nomination submission. It really is very exciting. Wish me luck!
