Career analyst Dan Pink examines the puzzle of motivation, starting with a fact that social scientists know but most managers don’t: Traditional rewards aren’t always as effective as we think. Listen for illuminating stories – and maybe, a way forward.

Iggy Pintado is an accomplished and experienced business leader, adviser, author, speaker and a good friend who I have also had the pleasure to meet offline. He is currently Director of Marketing and Innovation at UXC Connect. In April 2009, Iggy published his first book, ‘Connection Generation‘, a fascinating study of how connectedness affects our place in society and business and the challenges and opportunities this compelling development presents.

Anthill Magazine introduced to me this TED Talk by Susan Cain in this week’s Beer O’Clock. Susan is also the author of “QUIET: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can’t Stop Talking”. For someone who declares herself an introvert, I found her to be articulate and brave to throw herself into the lime-light to offer this fabulous presentation about introverts…

This is one of my favourite TEDx Talks and I’m surprised I haven’t shared it here earlier. I came across it sometime last year and from memory may have watched it three times that day!

Simon Sinek presents a simple but powerful model for how leaders inspire action, starting with a golden circle and the question “Why?”

I recently came across this TEDx talk by Brene Brown and found it fascinating especially now I spend many hours connecting and playing in the social media playground. Brene Brown studies human connection and our ability to empathize, belong and love. In a beautifully delivered talk, she shares what she has learnt from her research, one that sent her on a personal quest to know herself as well as to understand humanity. I hope you find it as fascinating as I did!
